Junk Food

Food for Thought: What is Junk Food? If you think about an item you would classify as junk food, what exactly is in that item? Let’s take a doughnut for example.  What type of nutritional quality are you getting from a doughnut? Not much, in fact, you are actually getting some harmful ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, and potentially even food colorings and preservatives known as excitotoxins. These items can lead to inflammation in the body. So ask yourself this when you look at a food item… is this really food or is this Junk? There’s no such thing as junk-food, it’s either food or it’s junk!
