New Non-Toxic alternatives for personal care products

We have been on a mission the past 10 years to not only remove toxins from our daily food intake, but to also remove these chemicals from our everyday products that we surround ourselves and our family with. When you really start to pay attention to the day to day products you are using or being exposed to, you will be blown away by the amount of chemicals in your path. When unstudied chemicals are used in cosmetics, bath and shower products, cleaning products, and personal hygiene items, the stakes are risky and high… and you are the one that ultimately pays the price. Many companies use ingredients that are linked to cancer, developmental problems, fertility issues, skin irritation, endocrine dysfunction, allergies, and inflammation. Many of these chemical ingredients actually penetrate the skin. Remember, your skin is your largest living organ. My rule of thumb is always this… IF YOU WOULDN’T SPRAY IT IN YOUR MOUTH OR CONSUME IT, THEN YOU SHOULDN’T PUT IT ON YOUR SKIN!  People also ingest these chemicals when used on lips and hands, and inhale sprays and powders as well.

The personal care product industry is HIGHLY unregulated. Some of the toxic ingredients you will find are: Parabens, Synthetic colors, Fragrance, Phthalates, Triclosan, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Formaldehyde, Toluene, and Propylene Glycol. You MUST read the labels, do your research, and source out the cleanest products available. You can actually make many of your own personal care products with basic core ingredients that you probably already have around your house along with a few essential oils. There are also many clean companies I have discovered that are on the same mission as me! One of my favorites is Ava Anderson Non-Toxic products. I discovered these products when I was pregnant with my son, and have been using many of their baby products, the skin-care line (which smells and feels incredible), their lipstick and lipgloss, and their sunscreen and household cleaning products. I feel confident when using these products around my children and pets, knowing they are not getting exposed to harmful chemicals. I was pleased to find out one of my clients fell in love with these products too, and she even left her “Corporate America” job to pursue a “non-toxic” career with Ava Anderson. Here’s her website so you can read more about these healthy products and find the alternatives you are looking for to clean up your personal care routine. www.avaandersonnontoxic.com/elizbethblonde

Xylitol- an alternative sweetener

When using xylitol in recipes you need to be careful what type of xylitol you get. You want to get a xylitol made from 100% birch bark. My favorite brand is Ultimate life’s “the ultimate sweetener.” It can be purchased through Luckyvitamin.com at a good price. Xylitol is good to use in baking recipes because it substitutes more equally to sugar. Typically if a recipe calls for a 1/4 cup of sugar you would use a 1/4 cup xylitol as a replacement.

I still prefer pure Stevia as the number one sweet alternative, however Stevia is difficult sometimes to bake with. So xylitol is another option…

A few warnings with xylitol, animals can NOT have it so please keep it away from your pets. Also, some people experience stomach sensitivity to xylitol, if you do you would not want to consume it.

My Story

I have told my story numerous times… One on one to clients, and in front of hundreds of practitioners and participants at seminars and health fairs. It’s always emotional and always reminds me of how far I’ve come and how God forces us through numerous valleys in order to reach the glorious mountain tops!
I finally sat down to write my story for the first time, and though this is a summary version, what a therapeutic experience it was. I am sharing it with all of you, because if this inspires even one person to get better and regain their health… Then it’s all worth it! God Bless!

Key Lime Cheesecake Recipe

Do you ever have one of those days where you just desire something totally out of the blue?! Today is one of those days for me. I saw a picture of key lime pie in a food magazine and it hit me, I want key lime dessert! So I immediately went to my recipe collection and found one of my old favorites, Key Lime Cheesecake! It always hits the spot because it gives you the key lime pie and the cheesecake sensation all in one. The best part, it’s cellular healing diet approved. There are no refined sugars, no grains, and no gluten in this recipe. It has good healthy fat and protein in it too! Here’s the link for all of you to try it too! Enjoy!

Grainless Granola Breakfast Recipe

This recipe is one of my favorites, it can replace that “quick cereal” type of breakfast and you can make it ahead of time and store in your pantry.

1/4 cup Organic Whole Flaxseeds

1/4 cup Organic Raw Almonds (or any other organic nut variety)

1/4 cup Raw Sunflower Seeds (or sesame seeds)

1/4 cup Raw Coconut Flakes, Unsweetened

Stevia and Cinnamon to taste

~Mix all ingredients (except stevia and cinnamon) in a blender or food processor (I throw everything into my Vitamix) and turn on low speed to chop up the nuts, seeds, and coconut.  Make sure to leave some texture and larger pieces for that added crunch. Then add in stevia and cinnamon (start with a small amount and slowly add it to your preference). Turn on blender for a few more quick burst and then it’s ready to serve or store.

Pour into a glass dish and store in pantry.

To serve… Take approximately a 1/2 cup of the mixture and pour in a bowl. Then add in approximately 1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut milk, unsweetened almond milk, or unsweetened hemp milk and enjoy like a cold cereal! Can also add in 1/4 cup berries for added antioxidant benefits. I especially enjoy this with organic blueberries added in.
