What are your recommendations for lactose intolerance?

My first recommendation is to come off all dairy products. Once we allow the body to heal itself, then we can slowly introduce dairy back into the diet. However, I only recommend raw dairy, especially for my lactose intolerant clients. Raw dairy contains the necessary enzyme, Lactase, to assist your body in breaking down lactose. Other options are Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, and Hemp Milk… make sure you get the “unsweetened” varieties, otherwise these too can have sugar added to them.

I started the detox and feel a little constipated, do you have any suggestions?

Be sure to increase fluid intake with any supplements to prevent constipation. You may also want to increase your fiber intake to be sure you are including a good balance of fiber in your daily regimen. A great fiber source is Mila, the chia seed.  You can also increase your intake of magnesium to “bowel” tolerance. This can have an impact on constipation. I’ve seen this help many of my clients.

What can I do if I have Sugar Cravings?

Cut out all forms of sugar and grains from your diet. The first week is usually rough, but after you cut these out of your diet, you’ll be amazed at how little you actually crave sugar. It’s then much easier to say no to sugar as well. This is when your body can truly go into fat-burning mode. You’ll learn more about this by attending one of our nutrition workshops, hormone classes, or during your consultation with tmihealth.

What can I do for a headache during the first week on my new eating plan?

This is usually a result of sugar withdrawal. The first week on your new eating plan can be difficult depending on how much sugar and refined carbohydrates you were previously consuming. The good news, it usually last only a week or so. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Tips to help; eat small meals more frequently, increase your antioxidant intake, and increase your glutamine intake. You can also try natural anti-inflammatory nutrients (turmeric, cayenne, bromelain, white willow bark, licorice root, devil’s claw, ginger, boswellia).

What symptoms might I experience while I am detoxing?

Typically an exacerbation of your already occurring symptoms. Sometimes you may see your symptoms get temporarily worse before they get better.

I am diabetic and take insulin daily, since beginning your plan, my sugar levels are coming down, what should I do about my insulin that I currently take?

This is great news! Getting your sugar levels under control is of great importance. With regards to your insulin, you will need to work with your prescribing doctor to adjust dosages according to your current needs. Be sure to contact your doctor’s office right away to notify them of your excellent achievements!

Do you have any “home remedies” for the relief of the common cold?

Many of our clients use this remedy at home: Mix 2 Tbls raw apple cider vinegar with 8 oz water (can also add 1 Tbls of raw honey for taste and sore throat) and Sip mixture. Can take up to 3 glasses per day. See more options at www.earthclinic.com

Can I take other supplements with Cytocleanse detoxification?

Yes, the only caution is the CytoCatch portion of the detox system. This is working to bind up toxins, and we do not want it to bind up the good stuff. Make sure you take other supplements and food at least an hour outside of the time you are taking CytoCatch. Taking your CytoCatch dose right before you go to bed can help avoid any timeline issues.

How do I know what supplements I need and how much to take?

Great question… and the best way to know is to Test, not guess! We utilize a micronutrient deficiency test to determine your current status of the key micronutrients in your body. The micronutrient testing offers a unique means to scientifically assess the intracellular requirements of micronutrients that play an important role in your overall health. Our tests measure the biochemical status of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants, providing us with a powerful clinical assessment tool to determine your supplementation needs.

How do I know if I have yeast or candida build up and what do I do if this occurs?

You may experience anal itching, vaginal itching, itchy or blotchy skin and GI issues. If this occurs, stop detoxification and start taking larger doses of anti-candida products and Probiotics. Once symptoms diminish you can start back on detoxification and may need to include an anti-candida protocol along with your detoxification protocol.

What should I do with extra capsules that remain?

If you have any extra capsules that remain, it means you’ve missed a dose somewhere in the protocol. You can take the remaining capsules at the end of your protocol to finish your detoxification dosage.

Take it as soon as you remember. If it’s the Cytocatch dose, you can take first thing in the morning, you’ll just need to wait an hour before eating or taking any other supplements.

Can I take my supplements with food? I feel nauseated after taking all the supplements on an empty stomach, can I take any of the supplements with food?

Herbal supplements work most effectively on an empty stomach but if you must take any supplements with food make sure that the food does not contain protein. An item I frequently recommend, especially for parents with little ones that need supplementation, is taking the supplement with unsweetened applesauce.
